Right - back to the garage again then ;¬) Can't say I think I'm going to enjoy this as much as the initial build... but what's got to be done has got to be done.
Things on the agenda for this evening are to generally strip down the chassis as quickly as possible. I must admit to quite enjoying it. It brings back the enthusiasm I had for the initial build which I didn't think I would feel - but I do...

Tonight sees almost the total car stripped down all that is left to do is remove fuel pipe and braking system... this is what we are left with. Not a bad achievement for about 12 hours of work!

Another 2-3 hours should see the chassis totally bare... and ready to relocate!
New MK Chassis is to be ready in a couple of days time... ready to fettle down and de-burr ready for it's plastic coat. Our visit to MK on Saturday to collect the Chassis, Bones and other items is impending.
We have decided to re-use the roll bar as it eventually came off despite using PU adhesive as well as bolts to secure it all. We have thought of a few idea's this evening to vary our build from the initial one... keep you posted!

| Visit to MK to finalise details on the chassis. A few extra brackets for the brake lines, handbrake cable and rear bulkhead support. Return back to garage with chassis to de-burr, degrease and prepare for powder coating. |

16 January 2005
Strip existing chassis of final remnants - brake master cylinder and brake lines.
18 January 2005
Prepare new chassis for powder coating (tomorrow)... shorten handbrake tube on the offside, de-burr all the sharp edges, rub down excessive welds and drill holes in lugs for brake flexi's. Rub down and degrease with cellulose thinners...
19 January 2005
Deliver chassis for powder coating... in good old silver! 3 hours later... collect chassis
20 January 2005
Tonight was a night for little 'hand dirtying'. Marking out of the chassis for securing the floor panel. Drilling holes for floor panel.
22 January 2005
Today is MK day... visit MK to collect and order parts for the build. Collected new rear arches, bonnet bulge. Ordered bonnet, side panels, rear panel, nose cone, aluminium for tunnel panels and rear bulkhead.

Fix brake lines
-
Fit fuel lines
-
Secure floor
What we actually did was fit brake lines... it was so cold (2 degrees!) We placed the old lines and marked out for P Clips and T connector. We then polished up the lines as they were quite cruddy and lacquered them to prevent corrosion and keep their shiny appearance. So using large headed rivets we secured the rear lines, T and tunnel line. We then marked out position for Roll Bar and drilled for securing. I deburred and polished up the lower suspension wishbones ready for chroming. Tomorrow many things will be collected to assist the build on Tuesday:
-
Rivets for securing floor - large headed Ø5mm x 9mm
-
Foliatec Paint for painting callipers and master cylinder
-
Rivnuts for general use - M4 and M5 x 12mm
-
Lazy Tong Rivet Gun for floor panel.
-
Reel of 2.5mm cable for additional wall sockets
25 January 2005
After "texflexing" (PU adhesive) the floor stays we secured the aluminium floor panel using a lazy tong rivet gun. 180 rivets in 20 minutes... not bad going and the floor is on!
Cleaned and placed differential - that's all in.
Drilled and placed Rivnuts for the Roll Bar and went through structure for braced bolts too.
27 January 2005
Clean up brake callipers and disc's
Fit handbrake cable
Get new nearside upright prepared and then plastic coated
